Year in Review: 2018

Year in Review

As usual, we like to take a moment to reflect on all that the past year had to offer.

Spring

In 2018, staff and consumers alike attended a second Keep the Door Open Rally, designed to advocate for and improve the conditions of mental health treatment in Maryland. Thanks to the efforts of Maryland citizens, the Hope Act successfully increased pay rates for mental health care providers. Read more here.

PDG’s Baltimore Office Open House also took place in April this year. Staff, partners, and the community got to enjoy lovely new furniture and office spaces while sipping on craft beer and bidding in the silent auction.

Shortly after our Baltimore office Open House, PDG opened its third location in Rockville, MD. Keep an eye out in 2019 for its Grand Opening.

Summer

Throughout the summer and fall, PDG staff organized and facilitated consumer picnics, field trips, and holiday meals – all annual traditions for our consumers. PDG staff also took a load off with staff events like baseball games, movie nights, and haunted houses!

One such event was PDG challenging Credible staff to a kickball game. Both companies – completely incidentally – chose the same team name. The Ballbarians played the Ballbarians and you can be sure… the Ballbarians won!

For the first time in PDG history, our Annual Crab Feast SOLD OUT and we had to close ticket sales. We thank all the community members, staff, and sponsors who made that event such a success – albeit a wet, rainy one.

Fall

Also a first: PDG Therapeutics hosted its first Therapeutics Wellness Fair, bringing practitioners together to promote a wide array of therapeutic resources.

For the third consecutive year in a row, PDG was recognized as a Top Workplace by the Baltimore Sun, showing how positive and collaborative PDG’s workplace culture really is.

Besides events and awards, PDG also took steps to serve our consumers better by opening a Day Program in our new Rockville office and starting an Older Adult Group in Anne Arundel County. Both groups will help serve our consumers better and provide more opportunities.

Of course, PDG is made up of talented and dedicated staff, strong consumers, effective community partners, and YOU! Thank you for all you’ve done for PDG and we look forward to continuing to serve our community with the absolute best mental health services.

But wait, there’s more!

Check out our 2017 and 2016 years in review, too.
